Chicago Pedestrian Killed by Truck

On August 23, 2009 a Chicago man died when he stepped off the curb in order to cross the street at the corners of Chicago and Ashland Avenues in the Wicker Park section of Chicago.  The man, Stephen Richardson, was hit by a big truck at about 10 p.m.  Mr. Richardson was pronounced dead at Cook Country Stroger Hospital shortly after the accident.

The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Unit has not yet reported any charges against the truck driver.  However, it is possible that the truck driver will still face significant legal problems.   Whether or not the Chicago Police Department has finished its investigation, the family may bring a wrongful death lawsuit against the truck driver.
