Mom’s claim on cover-up can advance

Beth Thomas’ federal complaint against the city of Blue Island and Detective Michael Cornell accuses the officer of engaging in a cover-up that included misrepresenting the results of an alibi witness’ polygraph examination during the investigation of a hit-and-run accident that killed her 11-year-old son, Robert Silva.
