Potential changes coming to the Illinois Crime Victims’ Bill of Rights

There is new legislation being proposed to amend the Illinois Crime Victims’ Bill of Rights, which would provide victims an attorney to represent their interests free of charge. As it stands now the Act allows victims a lawyer of their own choosing, but must pay for the services themselves.
